Hacker Can't Get Access

Arik Hesseldahl’s Wired report covers a dispute over Kevin Mitnick’s access to a computer while awaiting trial, part of a broader pattern in which prosecutors and prison officials restricted his access to technology even to review the government’s own discovery evidence against him.

The piece is one of several contemporaneous accounts questioning whether the restrictions placed on Mitnick’s pretrial confinement went beyond what was necessary for public safety.
