Chapter One: Kevin Mitnick's story
The Register published this first chapter of Kevin Mitnick’s own account of his hacking career and prosecution, written shortly after his supervised release ended in January 2003 and often referred to as his “lost bio.”
In it, Mitnick offers his version of events including the Pacific Bell voicemail intrusion that triggered his fugitive years, pushing back on aspects of the Shimomura/Markoff narrative and the broader mythology that had built up around him.
