Ghost in the Wires, Kevin Mitnick’s bestselling memoir co-written with William L. Simon, recounts his hacking career, years as a fugitive, arrest, and imprisonment in his own words, giving his first-person counter-narrative to the Shimomura/Markoff account in Takedown, from his early social-engineering exploits through the FBI manhunt and his eventual 1995 capture in Raleigh, North Carolina.
