Freedom Downtime - The Story of Kevin Mitnick

Freedom Downtime is a 2001 documentary directed by 2600’s Emmanuel Goldstein arguing that Kevin Mitnick was unfairly demonized by prosecutors and the press, made partly in response to the Miramax film Takedown.

The film follows Goldstein and other hackers as they travel the country confronting Miramax representatives over the bootlegged Takedown script, and includes interviews with Mitnick’s relatives, lawyers, and figures from the hacker community, including Cyberpunk co-authors Katie Hafner and John Markoff, who offer contrasting views of the case.
