TAP No. 67 - TAP's 10th Anniversary, Picking Mushroom-Pin Locks

Marking ten years since Al Bell and Abbie Hoffman launched the Youth International Party Line at a 1971 May Day anti-war rally, editor Tom Edison recaps the newsletter’s lineage through its name changes (YIPL to Technological American Party in 1973, to Technological Assistance Program in 1979) and its succession of editors, thanking a long list of contributors by their TAP pseudonyms. A companion technique column by ‘Al Mundy’ extends an earlier lock-picking piece to cover cylinders fitted with ‘mushroom’ or ‘spool’ security drivers, found in Corbin, Russwin, Abus, and Yale hardware, explaining how their shape changes the picking approach compared to standard pins.
