TAP No. 91 - Dun and Bradstreet: Do They Know Something We Don't, Yet More Phun with UNIX

Two computer-culture pieces from one of TAP’s last issues, written by contributors using the handles BIOC Agent 003 and TUC. The first follows up on an earlier article about a corporate credit-reporting dial-up system, noting the company had become aware of the earlier piece and reacted defensively, and reports the same authors nonetheless found further undocumented systems the company was using at the time. The second, building on an earlier Fred Steinbeck piece, is a technical discussion of UNIX system internals of the era relevant to hobbyists exploring multi-user systems. Both pieces describe long-obsolete early-1980s systems and are preserved here as period computer-culture history rather than current technical reference.
