This extra sheet will contain ads for phone related goods and services. For some time TAP has resisted becoming too commercial but the financial handwriting is ‘on the wall and it's either run ads or fold] Subscriptions are not coming in as fast as they must if we are to stay in business. New ways to raise revenues have got to ‘be found and taking in ads looks like one of the best ways at this time. ‘The plan at this time is to have one side of the 8 1/2 x 11 sheet for phone related ads and the other side for non-phone related ads. We will accept all kinds of ads that are standard in most newspapers plus ads that no newspaper in its right mind would even touch! Businesses, companies, corporations, and individuals with TAP related-type goods & services can now advertise their wares in a publication geared to a large counter-culture readership, What all the above bull shit means is that now if you've got "B.xes" for sale and the balls to request an ad, we'll run it! We will also run personal ads. For example: Male phone phreak wishes to meet female phone phreak- object: "Box" entry. I'm sure there are many people who would love to meet some- one capable of building the color boxes we print schematics of all the time. And if any one is paranoid about using their name and address in an ad, we will use box numbers at the TAP office and forward all mail to the person who ran the ad. Example: Blue Box for sale, good working condition, $100, write to Box A c/o TAP, ‘This extra sheet can also be used to announce late breaking news items which cannot get printed in TAP because of publishing deadlines such as the new phone credit card code in January. I will have access to an offset press which means that I can print this sheet myself the day before I mail out the issues. This means that there will be no more omitting good items because of lack of space in an issue. They can always be included on the extra sheet. Initially, I'll limit ads to 4 inches by 4 inches. Ads larger than this will be charged extra, All ads should be camera ready if possible. I will type up ads if necessary, I will not charge for typing up ads but if I become swamped with ads to type, I will be forced to charge for typing. The cost per ad per issue is $2.00. If you use our boxes and mail forwarding service, the cost per ad per issue is $3.00. These prices are cheap cause I want a lotta folks to use this service regularly.
