The Inspired Workspace: Interior Designs for Creativity & Productivity

The Inspired Workspace profiles more than forty workspaces “from Paris to New York to Beijing” for their approach to creativity and productivity in interior design. Nexspace appears as “Space for Metamorphosis: Nexspace” within the book’s “Serene Workspace” chapter grouping.
The profile (p. 92) frames Nexspace as a response to the disorientation of corporate relocation and mobile work: “Transitions can be daunting times. You’re feeling neither here nor there, with no roots or home to speak of. Employees who are in a migratory state may feel confused, unfocused, and left without an identity.” It credits David Agger, “founder of Nexspace,” with wanting “to create a workspace that was non-traditional, contemporary, and collegial to meet the emotional and physical needs of mobile staffers, emerging companies, temporary project teams, displaced sales units, consultants, and out-of-town companies waiting to find a permanent space in the Los Angeles area.” A pull quote on p. 94, drawn from Nexspace’s own website, reads: “When working on ethereal challenges sometimes it’s necessary to look at things in a different way — and your surroundings just might help.” Nexspace is also credited as a project/client in the book’s back matter (p. 157).
